Longterm Dreams
Coal Miners Memorial Monument
Whitwell Mountain is home to many incredible families that heartbreakingly lost members to the local coal mines when they were active.
We believe our neighbors who gave everything to our community deserve to be properly memorialized and honored. We are working hard to establish a monument at the park in honor of the miners and their families.
Updated Playground Equipment
Time spent outdoors and amongst friends and family is so important for our youth!
We are working hard to purchase and install updated playground equipment for the children and families in our community.
Historic Building Remodel
Whitwell Mountain is in need of safe, healthy gathering spaces for celebrations, community meetings, classes, and fellowship. We are working tirelessly to remodel the old Griffith Creek Elementary school into a community center.
